The Need for a Foundation

Our foundation was born out of a desire to bridge the gap between travelers who embarked on volunteer trips with InfluenceHers and their aspiration to continue making a difference long after their journey had ended.

With this, we realized the importance of ensuring their donations and gifts were stewarded with the utmost care and accountability.

This led to the emergence of the InfluenceHers Foundation, providing a trusted avenue for these passionate individuals to give confidently and help create sustainable change.

Our Aim:

Through our supporters and community members, The InfluenceHers Foundation aims to empower women-led organizations and initiatives by providing resources, funding, and mentorship. We believe that when women are given the tools and opportunities to thrive, entire communities are transformed.

How We Make An Impact:

  • Providing micro-grants to women-led organizations and initiatives throughout the year.

  • Connecting donors, volunteers, and supporters with reputable organizations and projects.

  • Carefully vetting and selecting initiatives, focusing on areas like education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and more, crucial for empowering women, girls, and youth.

  • Actively collaborating with partner organizations to monitor progress, offer guidance, and promote sustainable development.

  • Cultivating long-term relationships ensures that every contribution is maximized for meaningful impact.

Our Partner Organization(s)

About: Founded by Lillian Nyakio, Ubuntu is a community-based organization in Githurai, Kenya, right outside of Nairobi. Ubuntu stands for "humanity towards all". The organization’s mission is to empower its community through tailored programs such as girls' mentorship and reproductive education, economic empowerment, educational scholarships, and digital skills training for tech-savvy youth.

Current Project/Partnership:
The InfluenceHers Foundation is currently working with Ubuntu to help build and grow their Digital Skills Training & Education Program. This program will equip youth and women with income-generating digital skills to help them find jobs in the digital economy. Currently they are in need of new computer and a bigger space to teach classes. They can currently fit 10 in the space but would like to expand that to 20. We are raising money to help expand their current teaching space, buying new computers, and paying trainers,
